KCR Slams Congress for ‘Policy Vacuum’ in Telangana Governance
BRS president and former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao strongly criticised the Congress-led Telangana government, accusing it of failing to introduce even a single new policy in the two years since assuming power. Addressing a joint meeting of the BRS Legislature Party and the State executive committee at Telangana Bhavan, KCR alleged that governance under Congress had been reduced to personal attacks and political vendetta.
KCR claimed that the ruling party’s only agenda was to target him personally instead of focusing on public welfare. He said the absence of new initiatives exposed the hollowness of Congress promises made during the elections. He also accused the government of stalling welfare schemes launched during the BRS regime, further worsening public dissatisfaction.
Congratulating party leaders on the BRS’s performance in recent local body elections, KCR said the results reflected growing public anger against the Congress. He remarked that voters had delivered a fitting response to what he described as the arrogance of ruling party MLAs.
Drawing a comparison with his tenure, KCR said the BRS government had never resorted to intimidation or violence against opposition workers. He alleged that under the Congress, attacks on BRS cadre had increased, eroding democratic values.
Highlighting farmers’ issues, KCR said the agriculture sector had suffered badly, with farmers now forced to stand in long queues for fertilisers like urea. He contrasted this with the BRS period, when inputs were delivered directly to fields.
Accusing the Congress of focusing solely on real estate-related policies while property values declined, KCR said the government had failed on all fronts. He announced that he would address the media later in the day, reiterating the BRS’s resolve to fight what he termed as governance failure.
