Karnataka CM Kumarswamy Threatens to Resign
Karnataka CM H.D. Kumaraswamy is angry due to the recent comments of Congress leaders and has threatened to step down.
This is seen as a direct warning to Congress leaders who are passing statements on the current government and the CM. They want former CM Siddaramaiah as the head of the state.
This anger of Kumaraswamy was the reason of statements given by a Congress MLA ST Somashekar while speaking at a public event in Bengaluru on Sunday, 27 January. He, along with others, praised the former CM for Siddaramaiah’s contributions to the state.
In reaction, Kumaraswamy said it was the responsibility of the Congress high command in the state to keep the MLAs under control. Following the chief minister’s comment, Karnataka Congress in-charge KC Venugopal has asked state Congress to send a show cause notice to ST Somashekar seeking clarifications.
Senior Congress leader Malikarjun Khare said, “We've all come together to fight BJP-RSS. It's not advisable for any member to speak against the wishes of the party high command. Such incidents will create confusion in the coalition.”
