Kavitha writes party presidents everywhere to pass the Women's Reservation Bill.
During the upcoming special sitting of the Parliament, BRS MLC K Kavitha asked all political groups to pass the Women's Reservation Bill. She asked them to make sure that the Centre brought the long-overdue Bill to Parliament and that its passing was a top priority.
In a message to the leaders of all 47 political parties in Parliament, Kavitha said that the special parliamentary session was a great chance for elected officials to take a big step towards equal rights for men and women. She asked political groups to put aside their differences and work together to back the Women's Reservation Bill.
The MLC talked about how important women are to society and how they make up almost half of the country's population. But she was upset that there weren't enough women in governments. She saw this as a problem for the country's progress and a threat to democracy ideals.
Kavitha said that it was important for lawmakers to have people from different backgrounds if they wanted to meet the needs of the people, and she stressed how important it was to avoid one-sided representation. She said that more women in politics would not only give women more power, but also be an inspiration to millions of girls across the country. The former MP said that new ideas had come about because women were involved in making policy choices. She said that having more women in governments would lead to better policies, which would be good for society as a whole. At the moment, about 14 lakh women are constantly involved in public life, which helps local bodies run smoothly.
Kavitha said she was sad that political groups weren't doing enough to make sure women were well-represented in lawmakers. She informed everyone that the Women's Reservation Bill, which would give 33 percent of seats in the Lok Sabha and State Assemblies to women, had been in the works for a long time.
