Madhya Pradesh Govt Is In Crisis As Jyotiraditya About To Join BJP

Madhya Pradesh Party Leader Jyotiraditya Scindia has expelled for "anti-party activities”. Mr. Scindia said he has resigned from the primary membership of Congress.
Congress president has approved the expulsion of Sh. Jyotiraditya Scindia from the Indian National Congress with immediate effect for anti-party activities said K.C. Venugopal, the party's general secretary. The resignation letter of Mr. Scindia, dated March 9, 2020, and addressed to party president Sonia Gandhi, stated: "This was a path that has been drawing itself out over the last year.”
Mr. Scindia met PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah in the national capital on Tuesday, just a day after 17 Madhya Pradesh MLAs supporting him went incommunicado. As per the media report, Scindia will join the BJP this evening at 6 PM.
Rajasthan BJP leader Yashodhara Raje hails Scindia's decision and Mr. Scindia's aunt welcomed him to the party fold. Calling it a Ghar wapsi.
“Rajmata’s blood took the decision in the national interest, the new country will be created, now every distance has ended. @jyotiraditya, I warmly welcome the bold move to leave the Congress,” Yashodhara Raje, the sister of Ms.Vasundhara Raje tweeted.
In a veiled attack, Rajasthan CM Asok Gehlot accused Scindia of betraying the trust of the people as well as the ideology.
"Joining hands with BJP in a time of national crisis speaks volumes about a leader's self-indulgent political ambitions. Especially when the BJP ruining the economy, democratic institutions, social fabric and as well the Judiciary," Mr. Gehlot tweeted.
Chief Minister Kamal Nath has recommended the Governor to remove six ministers from the cabinet. They are supporters of Mr. Scindia and have resigned as lawmakers.
25 MLAs seen as Scindia loyalists are preparing to resign from the party in total, it is learned. Jyotiraditya Scindia would be given a Rajya Sabha seat from the BJP and would also be offered a cabinet berth in PM Modi's ministry, in all likelihood.
Jyotiraditya Scindia went incommunicado overnight and in a day of dramatic developments quit the Congress even as his former party claimed to have expelled him, in a face-saving move.
The Congress government headed by Kamal Nath had won 20 MLAs, marginally over the majority mark of one month six MLAs in the 228 members strong house.
The Kamal Nath government in Madhya Pradesh is on the verge of collapse as is likely to be proved in a floor test. However, the next few days will prove to be critical for the Congress party as also the fortunes of the Kamal Nath government in Madhya Pradesh.
