Maharashtra is now very interested in the Telangana Model
The BJP-Shiv Sena government in Maharashtra wants to learn more about how Telangana has grown.
Hyderabad: The Bharat Rashtra Samithi is changing the political landscape in Maharashtra. There are strong signs that the BJP-Shiv Sena government in the neighbouring state is now planning to study the Telangana Model of growth.
BRS President and Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao brought up the Telangana Model at all three public meetings he held in Maharashtra. It is known that bureaucrats have already been asked to study the schemes being used in Telangana, and Chief Minister Eknath Shinde is likely to meet with stakeholders later this week.
Shinde was quick to copy Telangana's Rythu Bandhu plan by giving farmers an input subsidy of Rs 6,000 per acre after Chandrashekhar Rao's first meeting in Nanded. It is now known that Shinde has called for talks because more people have asked for them.
Vinayak Patil, a social worker in Latur district, started a fast to the point of death to put pressure on the State government to do the same thing as in Telangana. After five days of not eating, his health got worse.
Shankar Anna Dhondge, head of the Maharashtra BRS, met with Patil. He said that people from the Maharashtra government had called Patil and promised to take steps to talk about his demands.
Many IT workers from Maharashtra who work in Hyderabad were also very positive about the Telangana Chief Minister and his plan for growth. They are saying that the heads of the two States are similar. Dhondge said that these young people are becoming some of the most important supporters of the BRS in the state of Maharashtra.
Maharashtra's decision to give electricity to farms at night has caused a lot of damage. Farmers are being killed by electricity or by snake bites. There have been times when two or three family members died in the same accident. Many families have lost their main source of income. He said that all of these guys are ready to join the BRS.
