“Make Sure This Is the Beginning of the End of Terrorism”: Navy Officer’s Wife on Operation Sindoor

Himanshi Narwal, the widow of Navy officer Vinay Narwal who was killed in the brutal April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, has expressed both grief and pride following India’s retaliatory strike — Operation Sindoor. Speaking to the media, Himanshi said the operation reflects her husband’s spirit and India’s resolve not to bow to terrorism.
Operation Sindoor was launched in the early hours of Wednesday, targeting nine terror infrastructure sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The operation was India’s response to the Pahalgam massacre that claimed 26 lives, most of them Hindu men. Himanshi’s photo sitting beside her husband’s body had gone viral, becoming a stark reminder of the tragedy.
Thanking the Narendra Modi government, Himanshi urged authorities to ensure this operation marks a turning point. “Make sure that this is just the start of the end of terrorism in this country,” she said. “No one should have to endure what I am going through right now.”
Himanshi recalled how Vinay joined the Indian Navy with the mission of safeguarding the country and preventing violence against innocents. “He believed in peace, and he wanted to eliminate hatred and terror,” she added.
Vinay’s father, Rajesh Narwal, also backed the military action. “These strikes were necessary,” he said. “Let this message echo in the minds of terrorists so they think a hundred times before attempting such cowardly acts again.”
During Operation Sindoor, Indian forces targeted key terror hubs including Jaish-e-Mohammad’s stronghold in Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba’s base in Muridke, along with seven other launchpads. The operation was hailed as a strong and necessary response to cross-border terrorism.
