Modi Bowing to Naidu’s Demands on Bifurcation Promise; BRS Sees Red
Hyderabad – Reports indicate that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has agreed to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s demand for a Rs. 60,000 crore petrochemical hub and Indian Oil refinery, part of the Thirteenth Schedule of the AP Reorganisation Act. The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has protested against what it views as the Centre’s continued discrimination towards Telangana.
Former MP and senior BRS leader B Vinod Kumar criticized the BJP MPs from Telangana for their lack of contribution to the State’s development and questioned why the NDA government has failed to fulfill bifurcation commitments to Telangana, such as the Bayyaram steel plant and Kazipet coach factory. Kumar accused the BJP of prioritizing Andhra Pradesh due to political support from the TDP and warned of a potential backlash from Telangana’s electorate.
