NGT Sends Notice To KTR, Telangana Government

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has sent a notice to Telangana IT Minister KT Rama Rao for illegal construction of a farmhouse at the Janwada area near Hyderabad.

Congress MP A. Revanth Reddy who represents the Malkajgiri Constituency raised allegations on the illegal construction and pointed out to KTR responsible for this. Along with KTR, notices have been served to Telangana government, Pollution Control Board (PCB) and Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HDMA).

Revanth Reddy claims that the illegal construction is against the GO no 111 and filed a petition to NGT in regard to this. Revanth said that GO 111 prohibits from putting up permanent structures in the Osmansagar Lake area.

A committee headed by the Central Environment Registry Regional Office has been formed by NGT and will send its report within two months.
