Naidu Launches Deepam 2.0 in Srikakulam, Vows Justice for TDP Amid Welfare Push for Women
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu underscored that the TDP-led NDA government’s approach is centered on justice, not political retaliation, declaring that those responsible for filing unjust cases against TDP supporters under the previous YSRC rule will be held accountable.
Addressing a public gathering at Idupuram village in Srikakulam district, Naidu launched the Deepam 2.0 scheme, which will provide three unrestrained LPG cylinders annually to low-income families as part of the government’s ‘Super Six’ guarantees. The initiative, which aims to ease household expenses, is expected to benefit around 1,671 households in Idupuram alone, with the government bearing an additional annual cost of ₹2,684 crore. Beneficiaries will receive reimbursements directly into their bank accounts within 48 hours of paying for each cylinder.
Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu and other key state officials, including District Collector Swapnil Dinkar and SP Maheswara Reddy, joined Naidu at the launch.
During his visit, Naidu personally delivered a gas cylinder to Santhamma, a local beneficiary, and highlighted his vision for women’s empowerment, stating, “Women make up half of our population, and their contributions should extend beyond traditional roles. They deserve self-respect and economic independence.”
He further reinforced this message by visiting another beneficiary, Balijepalli Janaki, to whom he awarded a pension under the single woman category.
Following the event, Naidu conducted a review of ongoing projects in Srikakulam, addressing local officials on development initiatives. Speaking to TDP supporters, Naidu recalled the challenges faced by his party under the previous regime, remarking on the overwhelming public support for the NDA, which he attributed to widespread frustration with the YSRC government.
