Naidu Outlines Vision for Andhra Pradesh, Balances Welfare and Development

In his first interview since assuming office as the 13th Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, N. Chandrababu Naidu shared his priorities after completing 100 days in office. Speaking to The Indian Express, the veteran politician emphasized the importance of infrastructure development, a knowledge economy, and green energy initiatives like green hydrogen and port-led manufacturing on the east coast.

Drawing from his earlier successes in Hyderabad’s transformation into an IT and biotech hub, Naidu is determined to position Andhra Pradesh as a leader in green energy, electronics manufacturing, and agro-processing. He highlighted his focus on the "speed of doing business" to attract investments and ensure real-time progress.

Despite challenges such as a ₹10.5 lakh crore debt inherited from the previous government, Naidu remains optimistic. His new industrial policy promotes public-private-people partnerships (PPPP) to balance land use between housing and industrial needs.

Naidu also aims to strike a balance between welfare and wealth creation, as his administration implements populist measures like minimum pensions while working on long-term revenue generation and employment opportunities. He stressed the need for systematic, patient governance to ensure sustainable growth and development for the state.

Naidu's leadership in coalition politics remains strong, as he continues to play a pivotal role in both Andhra's and national political landscapes.
