Naidu and Kalyan Unveil Joint Seat-Sharing Pact for Andhra Pradesh Assembly Polls
Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader N Chandrababu Naidu and Janasena chief Pawan Kalyan have disclosed their initial joint candidate list for the upcoming Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections, comprising 118 seats. The allocation reflects TDP's contesting in 94 constituencies, while Janasena will vie for 24 seats. The leaders emphasized the alliance's openness to accommodating the BJP, should they decide to join.
Addressing the press, Naidu stressed the alliance's commitment to the state's future, echoing Kalyan's sentiment on unity. Kalyan, acknowledging the BJP's support, unveiled five Janasena candidates, with more to follow soon.
Kalyan defended Janasena's smaller share, prioritizing stability over quantity. Naidu echoed this sentiment, underscoring the alliance's focus on statewide prosperity. He emphasized rigorous candidate selection, incorporating feedback from 1.1 crore individuals.
With an eye on youth and diverse backgrounds, Naidu outlined the candidate demographics, emphasizing qualifications and public resonance. He urged reciprocal cooperation among party leaders for electoral success.
Meanwhile, discussions with the BJP for a pre-poll alliance are ongoing, as confirmed by TDP sources. Andhra Pradesh BJP chief D Purandeswari affirmed that the party's alliances would align with directives from the central command, indicating active preparations across constituencies.
