Naidu’s Tech Adviser Booked For Theft Case, Despite Hacked EVM's
Vemuru Hari Prasad, the technical advisor of Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu, was booked for a theft case against him. However, in 2010 Hari Prasad was the one who shows how electronic voting machine (EVM) could be tampered and hacked.
Hari Prasad felt insulted when he heard that he was accused in the case of EMV theft, also continued that he had no idea on the status of the case. He was honored by the international community as he won the electronic frontier pioneer’s award in 2010. Hari Prasad added that the current M3 version of EMV's also could be hacked.
Hari Prasad even suspects about the functioning of VVPAT. Voter-verifiable paper audit trail machines are flashing the paper trail for 3 seconds instead of the usual 7 seconds, which shows that the original code inside EMV is not sacrosanct. He even added that when the code is changed the machine loses its integrity.
When he was asked will all these affect AP Assembly poll results, he denied saying that it won’t affect unless someone really tampers and then gets caught.
