Nara Lokesh Criticizes TTD for Alleged Poor Quality of Annaprasadam, Calls for Improvement
Nara Lokesh, the TDP national general secretary, has raised concerns over the quality of food being provided to pilgrims at the Srivari Annaprasadam dining hall on Tirumala Hills. He expressed his disappointment, stating that the recent protest by pilgrims against substandard food highlights corruption issues within the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) organization.
Pilgrims visiting Tirumala consider Annaprasadam as a divine blessing from Lord Venkateswara. Lokesh emphasized that the TTD should prioritize the quality of food served to devotees, as it is an essential part of their spiritual experience.
In response to these allegations, TTD Trust Board Chairman Bhumana Karunakara Reddy defended the organization, stating that the TTD consistently provides high-quality Annaprasadam to lakhs of devotees worldwide. He expressed disappointment over false propaganda on social media, where a small group of individuals allegedly complained about food quality at the Matrusri Tarigonda Vengamamba Annaprasadam Complex.
Reddy mentioned that while the TTD would never compromise on food quality, it is essential for devotees to practice patience and understanding regarding diverse food preferences in a pilgrim center. However, he assured that the TTD is always prepared to rectify any lapses in the food quality.
The dispute highlights the importance of maintaining the sanctity and quality of Annaprasadam, a sacred tradition cherished by devotees visiting Tirumala.
