Nara Lokesh Sparks Andhra Pradesh Election Discourse
Nara Lokesh, the national general secretary of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), has initiated the electoral conversation for the 2024 Andhra Pradesh elections, framing it as a clash between the pride of YSRCP's Jagan Mohan Reddy and the self-respect of the people. Speaking at a 'Sankharavam' gathering in Madugula, Lokesh criticized Jagan for his disparaging remarks about TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu, daring him to match Naidu's vigor by undertaking a hill-climbing challenge. He accused the YSRCP government of superficially refurbishing TDP's infrastructure to fabricate educational advancements and refuted claims of withdrawing welfare schemes, underscoring TDP's history of pro-poor initiatives.
Lokesh elucidated TDP's 'Babu’s Super Six' manifesto, pledging job creation, youth stipends, education scholarships, gas cylinder provisions, women's aid, and complimentary RTC bus rides for women. Urging party members to propagate these assurances, Lokesh expressed optimism about the electorate's recognition of past missteps and the resurgence of TDP-JSP governance. He emphasized the party's utilization of technology to identify and reward commendable work by party workers, expressing regret over the electorate's rejection of TDP's welfare programs and good governance, while asserting confidence in their return to power.
