Newly Elected MLA Naveen Yadav Attends GHMC Meeting Before Oath Ceremony
Hyderabad: In an unusual move, Congress MLA-elect V. Naveen Yadav attended the GHMC (Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation) general body meeting on Tuesday despite not yet being officially sworn in as a Member of the Legislative Assembly. His presence at the meeting raised questions regarding procedural correctness, though GHMC officials declined to comment on any breach of protocol.
During the session, Yadav paid tributes to recently deceased public figures, including BRS MLA Maganti Gopinath and noted poet-lyricist Ande Sri, who authored the Telangana state anthem Jaya Jaya He Telangana. He also expressed condolences over the passing of Mohammed Muzaffar Hussain, AIMIM corporator from Santosh Nagar division.
While Yadav refrained from participating in official discussions, his attendance marks an assertive political gesture following his recent electoral victory. Observers believe it signals his intent to engage actively with civic governance and local development issues from the outset.
