Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan responded to the comments made by the Union Minister of State for State. Pawan Kalyan believes that the federal government should maintain its monopoly on the steel industry in Visakhapatnam. Pawan praised the Union Minister's statement as hopeful while criticising the state administration for lacking the seriousness to rescue Visakhapatnam Steel. On this topic, Pawan wrote an open letter, claiming that the Visakha Steel industry has a special place in the hearts of Telugu people because of the 32 lives lost there.
Pawan has claimed he has told Union Home Minister Amit Shah about the Telugu people's sentimental ties to Visakhapatnam Steel and has requested Shah to examine this sector of the economy independently. According to Pawan, some farmers who lost land to the construction of the Visakha Steel Plant have yet to be compensated for their losses. He said that state leaders should pay more attention to these sectors and accused them of being dishonest.
