Police File Case Against Allu Arjun and Others Over Sandhya Theatre Stampede Incident
The Chikkadpally police have registered a case against Telugu superstar Allu Arjun, his security team, the owner of Sandhya Theatre, and others in connection with a tragic stampede during the premiere of Pushpa 2. The incident led to the death of a woman, Revathi, from Dilsukhnagar, while her 8-year-old son remains critically injured.
Central Zone DCP Akansh Yadav stated on Thursday that the case was filed based on a complaint from the victim’s family. The charges have been booked under sections 105 and 118(1) r/w 3(5) of the BNS Act, and investigations are underway.
The tragedy unfolded when Allu Arjun arrived at Sandhya Theatre to greet fans attending the premiere. Overwhelmed by the actor’s presence, the crowd surged forward, resulting in chaos. In the melee, Revathi and her son were caught in the crowd, leading to suffocation and collapse. Revathi succumbed to her injuries, while her son remains hospitalized in critical condition.
This incident has raised serious questions about crowd management and safety at high-profile events, with authorities likely to impose stricter regulations to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
