President Biden Issues Stern Warning to Militants Following Retaliatory Strikes
US President Joe Biden issued a strong warning to militants, emphasizing that any harm inflicted on Americans would be met with a retaliatory response. This caution follows a series of recent incidents, including the lethal Tower 22 drone attack, Red Sea assaults by Houthi militants, and Middle Eastern militia attacks, largely linked to Israel's Gaza campaign.
President Biden made it clear that the US has already initiated its response and will continue to act at their chosen times and locations. He sent a resolute message to potential threats, stating that any harm to American citizens would trigger a decisive response. US leaders have stressed that this response won't be confined to a single strike but will encompass a calculated and multifaceted approach over time.
Recently, the US military conducted an extensive air assault targeting multiple sites in Iraq and Syria, reportedly used by Iran-backed militias and the Iranian Revolutionary Guard. This action is seen as part of the US's multi-pronged response to a drone strike that killed three US troops in Jordan.
The comprehensive strikes hit over 85 locations, including command centers, intelligence facilities, storage sites for rockets, missiles, drones, and ammunition depots linked to militias and the IRGC’s Quds Force.
President Biden left no room for doubt, indicating that further actions are forthcoming. Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi echoed a commitment to avoid initiating conflict while emphasizing that the Islamic Republic of Iran would respond robustly to any act of aggression.
Reports indicate that Iran-backed militia groups launched a total of 166 attacks on US military installations since October 18, with no injuries or damage in the most recent incident in Jordan on January 29.
