Prime Minister Modi Encourages Massive Voter Turnout in Lok Sabha Phase 3
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, exercising his voting rights in Ahmedabad, fervently called upon citizens to actively participate in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections' third phase. He emphasized the crucial role of citizens in bolstering the vibrancy of the electoral process, urging them to cast their votes in record numbers. Addressing the nation in multiple languages, including Bengali, Assamese, Kannada, Gujarati, Marathi, and Hindi, PM Modi underscored that voting is not merely a routine exercise but a fundamental act of contributing to democracy.
Expressing gratitude to voters in Gujarat and across the nation, PM Modi acknowledged the upcoming phases of the elections and the diverse constituencies involved. He cited the extensive efforts undertaken to ensure the smooth conduct of the electoral process, emphasizing the importance of each citizen's participation.
PM Modi lauded India's election process as exemplary, suggesting it as a model for democracies worldwide. He advocated for comparative studies of election processes across 64 countries, highlighting the celebration of democracy in India.
The third phase of the elections encompasses 93 constituencies across 11 states and Union territories, featuring over 1,300 candidates, including approximately 120 women. Notable contenders include Union ministers Amit Shah (Gandhinagar), Jyotiraditya Scindia (Guna), Mansukh Mandaviya (Porbandar), Parshottam Rupala (Rajkot), Pralhad Joshi (Dharwad), and S P Singh Baghel (Agra).
With a total of 17.24 crore eligible voters, including 8.39 crore women, the phase is facilitated by 1.85 lakh polling stations staffed by 18.5 lakh officials to ensure the smooth conduct of the elections. PM Modi's call for widespread voter participation resonates as a pivotal moment in India's democratic journey.
