Priyanka Gandhi Brings In New Freedom Struggle

Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Wednesday concluded her Ganga yatra in Modi’s Lok Sabhaconstituency, Varanasi, saying the 2019 elections were a “new freedom struggle against an oppressive government”.

“The British used to persecute people. This is also happening in this government. The only difference is that now the dictators are Hindustani," she said. Priyanka traveled by boat and road to the iconic spots of Varanasi like AssiGhat, DashashwamedhGhat, and Kashi Vishwanath temple.

Once our government comes to power at the center, a dedicated ministry will be formed to address your problems, Priyanka promised boatmen near AssiGhat.

Congress and BJP supporters nearly came to blows in Varanasi after Priyanka’s visit to former PM Lal Bahadur Shastri’s ancestral house on Wednesday. BJP supporters accused Priyanka of placing the garland she had worn around Shastri's bust. Police had to rush to the spot to control the situation. Later, BJP supporters brought gangajal, saying they would cleanse Shashtri’s house.
