Putin Praises Trump, Raises Concerns Over His Safety Amid Threats
Russian President Vladimir Putin recently commended U.S. President-elect Donald Trump as an “intelligent politician” capable of resolving the ongoing war but expressed concerns about his safety following multiple assassination attempts. Speaking at a press conference in Kazakhstan, Putin reflected on two alarming incidents targeting Trump during his presidential campaign.
One attack occurred in July in Pennsylvania, where Trump was injured at a rally in Butler after a bullet grazed his ear, leaving him bleeding. The dramatic moment was caught on camera. Another incident followed in September at Trump’s Mar-A-Lago estate in Florida, where authorities apprehended a man allegedly attempting to position himself with a rifle at one of Trump’s golf courses.
While Putin voiced confidence in Trump’s problem-solving abilities, he also issued a stern warning. The Russian leader threatened to unleash Oreshnik missiles on Kyiv, describing these intermediate-range weapons as “virtually unstoppable” by any air defense systems. He confirmed the missiles had already been deployed against the city of Dnipro, further escalating tensions in the region.
Putin’s remarks underscored a mix of admiration and caution, highlighting Trump’s political acumen while raising alarm over the challenges he faces, both from adversaries and on the global stage. As geopolitical tensions remain high, the interplay between Putin’s warnings and his confidence in Trump adds a layer of intrigue to the already complex international landscape.
