Revanth Reddy Brings in Major Change After Chandrababu Naidu
The government of Andhra Pradesh, under former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, recently appointed a new Director General of Police (DGP), Tirumala Rao. Following this move, Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has approved the appointment of a new DGP for the state. Senior IPS officer Jitender Reddy is the proposed candidate for the position.
Born into a farming family in Jalandhar, Punjab, Jitender is a 1992 batch IPS officer of the Andhra Pradesh cadre. His career began as an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) in Nirmal, and he later served as Additional SP in Bellampally. He held significant roles as the SP of Mahbubnagar and Guntur districts during periods of high Naxalite activity. Jitender's extensive experience includes working with the Delhi CBI and the Greyhounds from 2004 to 2006. He was later promoted to Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and took on responsibilities in Visakhapatnam. His appointment will be announced soon.
