Revanth Reddy has taken the oath as the Chief Minister of Telangana.
Revanth Reddy took the oath as the new Chief Minister of Telangana in a vibrant ceremony held at LB Stadium in Hyderabad on Thursday. Governor Tamilisai Soundarajan administered the oath of office and secrecy. The newly formed cabinet comprises 11 Ministers, including prominent figures like Nalgonda MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Madhira MLA Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, and Huzurnagar MLA Uttam Kumar Reddy, all considered top contenders for the Chief Minister's position.
Other additions to the Cabinet include Mulugu MLA Seethakka (D Anasuya), Husnabad MLA Ponnam Prabhakar, and Palair MLA Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy. The swearing-in ceremony was attended by dignitaries such as Karnataka Chief Minister K Siddaramaiah, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sikku, AICC chief Mallikarjun Kharge, Congress Parliamentary party president Sonia Gandhi, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, and Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi.
Immediately after taking the oath, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy took significant actions, including signing the first file to provide legal status to the six guarantees promised by the Congress party during the elections. He also signed the appointment letter for differently-abled individual K Rajini and personally handed over the letter to her.
In his address to the gathering, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced the renaming of Pragathi Bhavan to Jyotirao Phule Bhavan. He invited the public to a Praja Darbar at 10 am at the Bhavan, emphasizing the commitment to democratic values and citizens' rights. He pledged to ensure equal development in the state, referring to it as "Indiramma Rajyam" and emphasizing the role of the government as servants rather than rulers.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy later visited Taj Krishna, where Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi, AICC chief Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, and Priyanka Gandhi were staying. His schedule included a visit to the BR Ambedkar Secretariat for a formal meeting after seeing off the AICC leaders and the Gandhis to New Delhi.
In additional appointments, B Shivadhar Reddy was named the Intelligence Chief, and V Seshadri was appointed as the Secretary to the Chief Minister, according to reports.
