Second Day of Farmers Protest in Delhi
Farmers across India have gathered at the capital to raise voice for a one-time loan waiver and better MSP (minimum support price) for crops.
Umbrella body of farmer unions, the All India Kisan Coordination Committee (AIKCC), said farmers would hold a parliament to press for their demands.
Today is the second day of protest and thousands of farmers have gathered today at the Ramlila ground. Also, 21 political parties, many doctors, teachers and artists are also supporting the march today.
Farmers angrily questioned that whether constructing Ram Mandir is more important than their lives. Some farmers carried the skulls of the farmers who have committed suicides and women came with their husband photos around their neck.
The slogans were “"Narendra Modi hosh mein aao...Kisaanon se mat takrao...(Wake up, Narendra Modi. Do not play with our lives)" and these slogans attracted politicians, social workers and activists to protest against the Modi government.
Rahul Gandhi, Sitaram Yechury, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and many other leaders are supporting the march.
Responding to this, JD(S) chief HD Deve Gowda tweeted: "Modi Government and BJP are boasting about betterment of India's position in the 'Ease of Doing Business' index. But, with Ease of Doing Business, India should also better itself in 'Ease of Doing Agriculture'. This is very important @narendramodi avare.#FarmersMarch."
Even MS Swaminathan, architect of India green revolution tweeted: "Today, thousands of farmers are assembling in several parts of Delhi as part of a two-day #KisanMuktiMarch. Evidence of agrarian unrest has been growing and farmers have come to the conclusion that only agitation and not reasoning will lead to action on their problems."
As Modi has promised to make agriculture better and failed, he is going to face troubles from the farmer and yeah, this might show some negative effect on Telangana elections.
