Stay Inside And Calm Today, It’s Janta Curfew

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday addressed the nation amid the coronavirus outbreak and decided to hold a ‘Janta Curfew’ on Sunday, 22 March. Though everyone is informed about it, still there are quite a few things citizens need to know about it.
The curfew is to last from 7 am to 9 pm, and everyone is requested not to venture out during this timeframe. The Prime Minister also urged people to self-quarantine and self-control themselves, and each one should choose 10 people and inform them – through phones, etc – about this and urge them to stay at home.
However, the Prime Minister said that the curfew will not be applicable on those who are involved in essential services, like healthcare, media etc.
PM Modi also requested everyone to mark the appreciation and gratefulness of workers like doctors and nurses, those at hospitals and airlines, railways and bus staff, media and security personnel by clapping, ringing bells or banging steel plates at or around 5 pm on the same day.
“The whole world is going through a very serious phase. Generally, whenever a natural crisis occurs, it is limited to a few countries or states. But the coronavirus outbreak has put the entire human race in crisis,” Modi said in his 30-minute television address to the nation.
The total number of coronavirus positive cases in India have crossed 250 and still counting with the number of deaths being 5 in the country.
