TDP Chief Calls for CBI Probe into APPSC Exam Irregularities
The national president of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), N. Chandrababu Naidu, has urged for a CBI investigation into the irregularities surrounding the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) Group-I mains examination of 2018, recently nullified by the High Court.
In a statement released on Thursday, March 14th, Mr. Naidu criticized the systematic degradation of the APPSC during the YSR Congress Party's (YSRCP) five-year tenure. He accused Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy of exploiting the commission for political advantage, resulting in a scandal that adversely affected unemployed youth.
Alleging that Group-I positions were unfairly awarded to YSRCP affiliates, Mr. Naidu emphasized the consequent denial of opportunities to deserving candidates. He demanded the suspension of APPSC Chairman D. Gautam Sawang and Secretary (FAC) P.S.R. Anjaneyulu for negligence in their duties.
Highlighting the need for a thorough investigation, Mr. Naidu insisted that the CBI should take charge to uncover potential complicity among high-ranking officials.
Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is examining allegations regarding Ms. Kavitha's involvement in the 'South Group,' linked to the Delhi liquor policy scam, known for its unusually high profit margins for both wholesalers and retailers.
