TDP's 'Jai Ho BC' Declaration: Pledges and Promises for Andhra Pradesh's Backward Classes
In anticipation of the simultaneous Assembly and Lok Sabha polls, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) unveiled their 'Jai Ho BC' declaration, aimed at uplifting the Backward Classes (BC) community in Andhra Pradesh. The declaration outlines a series of pledges designed to empower BCs across the state.
Among the key promises, the TDP commits to providing a monthly pension of Rs 4,000 to BC adults above the age of 50, alongside advocating for a specific law to safeguard BCs from injustices. Additionally, the party vows to allocate funds for washing machines under the 'Aadharna scheme' for the Rajaka community.
Further, the TDP pledges to allocate substantial funds for BC welfare programs over the next five years, while ensuring 33% reservation for BCs in the state legislature. They also promise to establish BC corporations based on population and allocate Rs 10,000 crores for BC self-employment initiatives.
Other assurances include increasing benefits under the Pelli Kanuka scheme, reviving the Chandranna Bheema scheme, and reinstating educational schemes and fee reimbursements. Moreover, plans are outlined to upgrade residential schools to junior colleges and implement foreign education opportunities.
In essence, the TDP emphasizes its commitment to fostering the economic, social, and political advancement of the BC community, pledging to provide justice and support for the prosperity of 153 BC castes in the state.
