TDP's Nara Lokesh Voices Concern Over Erosion of Justice in Andhra Pradesh
Nara Lokesh, TDP's general secretary, has raised serious concerns about the erosion of justice and the deterioration of democratic values under the leadership of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in Andhra Pradesh. During his Yuva Galam Padayatra, Lokesh met with advocates from Pithapuram who expressed their grievances and appealed for action.
Advocates brought to Lokesh's attention the need to repeal the Land Titling Act 2023 once the TDP comes to power in the state's next elections. They highlighted their concerns about the YSRC government allegedly targeting advocates with false cases. Advocates further reported the non-release of Rs 75 lakh in funds designated for advocate welfare, emphasizing the necessity for dedicated legislation to safeguard the legal fraternity.
Lokesh assured the advocates that, once in government, the TDP would prioritize the security and welfare of lawyers. He expressed his apprehension about the enactment of laws that hinder access to justice for ordinary citizens and lamented the exploitation of social media to demean even judges.
As Lokesh continued his padayatra through Pithapuram, the local TDP supporters warmly welcomed him, highlighting the growing concern over the state of justice and governance in Andhra Pradesh under the current administration.
