TRS Membership Drive –What you need to know
The Chief Minister of Telangana K Chandrasekhar Rao launched the party’s membership drive on 27th June in Hyderabad. The purpose of the drive is to renew existing party memberships and create new ones. The drive would cover all villages and towns and would continue till 20th July. After the Chief Minister renewed his membership first and received a receipt from Secretary-General K. Keshava Rao, other party minister and MLAs followed his footsteps.
The drive was announced by Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) working president KT Rama Rao on Monday. He was laying the foundation stone for the construction of the district party office in Sircilla.
The aim of Telangana Rashtra Samithi is to reach one crore landmark. In a similar drive two years ago, 60 lakhs members were enrolled. The TRS leaders are confident that the figure will touch one crore this time as TRS had swept Assembly polls with a large margin. Apart from the membership drive, the meeting will also discuss the construction of party offices in thirty districts. The preparations for the coming municipal elections are also on the plate.
