TV shows are satirical than informative: HD Kumaraswamy
Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy has disapproved of what he calls news channels "disparaging" politicians on their sarcastic shows and says he trusts law is expected to control the media. At an open gathering on Sunday, Mr. Kumaraswamy questioned demonstrates estimating on the life span of the Janata Dal Secular-Congress alliance government headed by him and affirmed that it would proceed with the "great wishes" of Congress president Rahul Gandhi.
"Who are you (media) attempting to help by abusing our name, deprecating us among masses? I'm considering acquiring a law. What have you thought of us politicians? Do you believe we're jobless? Do we look like animation characters to you? Who gave you a specialist to demonstrate everything amusingly," Mr. Kumaraswamy said at a book release in Mysuru?
Mr. Kumaraswamy said he had quit addressing the media for as far back as the month in light of "reckless announcing". He declared that his legislature was steady, in spite of hypothesis that after the Lok Sabha election results on Thursday, May 23, the alliance may fall.
"This legislature won't go so effectively as is being anticipated that not long after the election results on May 23 (the administration would fall). It will proceed with the great wishes of Congress president Rahul Gandhi and (previous chief minister) Siddaramaiah," he said.
"We are not enduring a result of media but rather due to 6.5 crore individuals of the state. I am not frightened of them (media) by any stretch of the imagination. I couldn't care less... On the off chance that I see every one of the scenes of their accounts in the electronic media, I will lose rest," he said.
Mr. Kumaraswamy alluded to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the Kedarnath and Badrinath places of worship amid the election as he hit out at the media.
"When we go to places of worship, it is called Temple Run however they (news channels) are dumbfounded when Modi goes to Badrinath (Kedarnath)," he said.
