Tata Group to Drive Andhra Pradesh’s Growth with New IT Centre, Hotels, and Green Energy Projects
On Monday, Tata Group Chairperson Natarajan Chandrasekaran met with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu at the State Secretariat, discussing strategic areas for collaboration to boost the State's development.
Following their meeting, Naidu took to X, acknowledging Tata Group’s impactful legacy. “Met with the Executive Chairman of @TataCompanies, Mr N Chandrasekaran, in Amaravati today,” he wrote, “reflecting on Mr Ratan Tata’s remarkable contributions, which have left a lasting mark on India’s industry landscape and greatly benefited our State.”
Naidu highlighted Tata Consultancy Services’ (TCS) plans to establish a new IT Development Centre in Visakhapatnam, aimed at creating 10,000 jobs. The meeting also explored Tata’s expansion in tourism, with Indian Hotels planning to open 20 new hotels across Andhra Pradesh, including brands like Taj, Vivanta, and Ginger, alongside a large convention centre to support business and tourism.
In a major green energy initiative, Tata Power is evaluating investments for over 5 GW in solar and wind projects, with an estimated value of ₹40,000 crore, positioning Andhra Pradesh as a hub for renewable energy in the coming years.
