Telangana Health Minster On Markaz Incident

As the count of confirmed COVID-19 positive cases rise in Telangana after many Delhi returnees testing positive, Government has sought to more strict lockdown norms and is enforcing much more on social distancing.
Telangana Health Minister Etela Rajendra said that around 1200 people from Telangana visited the Markaz and all of them have been traced out by the state except 160 people. He also added that community transmission did not take place in states.
All the individuals who have been traced are now undergoing treatment in government-run hospitals. The government is also trying, in every possible way, to trace the remaining ones. Speaking on their efficiency, minister said that they were able to trace these individuals within just 48 hours and that shows the strength of our surveillance teams.
“Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was the first to demand a ban on all international and domestic flights. Even before other States, Telangana was already implementing a complete lockdown. We were the first to alert about the Markaz meeting and its implications to New Delhi as well,” Rajender said.
