Telangana to have two new districts Mulugu and Narayanpet - Count goes up to 33

Telangana will be having 33 districts from Sunday with the addition of two new districts to its existing count of 31. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has kept on his electoral promises of forming these 2 new districts within three months of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) coming to power.

Narayanpet and Mulugu are the two newly formed districts and a final notification for their creation was issued on Saturday.

Mulugu district is made out from the Jayashankar Bhupalpally district having 9 mandals while Narayanpet district is made out of the Mahbubnagar district having 11 mandals . The government is also expected to appoint two new collectors, SPs, and other officials for the districts today.
