Three Terrorists Killed in Tral Encounter, Video Shows Militants Hiding in Shed

In a major counter-terrorism operation, three terrorists were gunned down by security forces in the Nader area of Tral in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday. A dramatic video from the encounter has since gone viral on social media, showing the militants hiding inside a shed before being eliminated by the joint team of Indian forces.
The operation was launched early Thursday morning by the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) after receiving specific intelligence about the presence of terrorists in the region. In an official post on social media platform X, the Army confirmed the elimination of “three hardcore terrorists,” adding that their identities were being ascertained.
This successful strike comes in the wake of heightened operations across the Union Territory following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, which targeted civilians and shocked the nation. In response, Indian security agencies have intensified their crackdown on terrorist elements operating within and across the border.
Earlier this week, a separate operation—Operation Keller—was carried out in the Keller forest region of Shopian district. Acting on intelligence inputs, a joint force neutralised three terrorists, including a top commander of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT)/The Resistance Front (TRF). The operation yielded significant recoveries, including AK-series rifles, grenades, and other combat supplies.
These encounters follow the larger success of Operation Sindoor, in which Indian forces targeted terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), reportedly killing around 100 terrorists. Key locations such as Jaish-e-Mohammed’s base in Bahawalpur and Lashkar’s training ground in Muridke were among the primary targets.
The back-to-back operations reflect India’s assertive approach in dismantling terror networks and delivering a firm message to militant groups and their sponsors. Security forces remain on high alert across the Valley.
