US Intercepts Most Iranian Missiles and Drones, Not Israel: Report
A recent analysis of attack data revealed that the majority of missiles and drones launched by Iran toward Israel on April 13 were intercepted and shot down by the United States rather than Israel. US military officials, speaking to The Intercept, disclosed that over half of the incoming weapons were destroyed by US aircraft and missiles before reaching Israel.
In a significant development, Iran initiated a direct attack on Israel by firing more than 300 missiles and drones. Although Israel claimed to have intercepted over "99 percent" of the weapons with the assistance of allies like the US, Jordan, France, and Britain, preliminary estimates from US military sources suggest that around half of Iran's weapons faced technical failures, with more than 80 being destroyed by US forces.
The US Central Command reported the successful engagement and destruction of over 80 uncrewed aerial vehicles and at least six ballistic missiles intended for Israel from Iran and Yemen. While the US did not disclose the specific location of interception, it maintains an active military base in Saudi Arabia. Additionally, the Israel Defense Forces stated that approximately 25 cruise missiles were intercepted by Israeli Air Force fighter jets outside the country's borders.
