Will Revanth openly welcome the group in Telangana, but skip the AICC protest against Adani in Delhi?
"Hunting with the hounds and running with the hare" is the motto of Hyderabad. This axiom perfectly captures the Congress's stance on the Adani controversy in Telangana. The Telangana Congress government is welcoming the Adani group with open arms, despite the All India Congress Committee (AICC) calling for a nationwide protest demanding an investigation into Adani affairs following the sensational expose by US-based short-seller Hindenburg. On Thursday, August 22, the AICC called for a nationwide protest and invited the chief ministers of the Congress party to participate. A Revanth Reddy, the chief minister of Telangana, was not expected to take part in the demonstration.
However, IT Minister and cabinet colleague D Sridhar Babu did not hold back when he declared that the Adani group's investments would be warmly welcomed by the Telangana government. In response to a question during a press conference concerning the current state of the Rs 12,400 crore investment plans in Telangana against the backdrop of the AICC's call for a protest against the Adani group, Sridhar Babu made it clear that the government was welcoming of any investor who chose to come to the State. When he stated that the Congress would also value the "party's philosophy and ideology, we will definitely be aligning with the party," the Minister, however, left things a little unclear. However, the State's interests come first, according to Sridhar Babu.
However, the real query is still unresolved. Would Revanth Reddy be present at the Delhi AICC protest? The answer to this million-dollar question might have to wait.
