YS Jagan Take on Power Deals by CBN Government
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said that he would order a probe into power purchase and other irregularities done by TDP government.
A cabinet sub-committee, state, and central government are investigating agencies would be involved in the investigations regarding the irregularities including power purchase agreements, land acquisition, land pooling, sand quarrying and mining in the last five years.
Jagan also said that he would recover all the excess money paid by the state to private power companies in the last five years.
“Power purchase agreements signed by the previous government had cost Rs 2,636 crore and we would recover that money,” Jagan said.
Private power plants had to pay Rs 18,375 crore to the Discom and state government has to pay another Rs 10,375 crore.
Jagan said he would negotiate with private companies and if they don’t agree, all agreements will be canceled!
