YSRC Powers 50% Polls
The powers in Andhra Pradesh has been swiped by the Yuvajana Shramika Raithu Congress Party (YSRCP) by hailing about 50% votes, as per election commission.
In the 175-member Assembly, YSRCP bagged about 151 seats polled 49.95 percent of votes, which is 10 percent more than the votes polled by the loser Telugu Desam Party (TDP) who got just 23 seats.
A spectacular electoral debut winning by the Actor Pawan Kaylan’s Jana Sena polled 6.8 percent votes whereas the oppositions BSP, CPI and CPI-M got less than one percent votes.
This time BJP drew a blank by going alone and polled about 0.84 percent votes.
In Lok Sabha to there was not much difference in the results of polling than the Assembly ones.
YSRCP, which won 22 of the 25 parliamentary seats, polled 49.15 percent votes and the opposition TDP with only 3 seats, secured 39.59 %. The Jana Sena’s contribution was only 7.03%
