Ratan Tata Invests in Coimbatore-based Electric Vehicle Startup – Ampere
Ratan Tata has invested an unknown amount in Ampere which is a Coimbatore-based electric vehicle start-up founded by a woman entrepreneur.
The start-up was founded by Hemalatha Annamalai for which Tata invested along with Ampere’s existing investor, Forum Synergies.
Hemalatha is going to use the funds to scale up operations and hire talented people over two years.
For the first time, Tata made investment on the auto mobile startup. Ampere manufactures economical electric scooters, e-cycles, e-three wheelers, customized e-vehicles for the differently-abled, and EV chargers.
This startup currently has dealers in Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu. After the news gone viral, not only Ampere, but the whole city is filled with joy and happiness.
Earlier this year, the founder CEO of Ampere was recognized for the CII Regional Emerging Entrepreneur Award.
