10 suspended by EC over Chandragiri Fiasco

Fiasco, at the time of Lok Sabha Elections 2019, has forced EC to order for suspension of officials. As a part of the drive, EC managed to identify and crack its whip on 10 suspects involved in creating fiasco during polling session. The EC has also announced that suspects have been charged with “Dereliction of duty” allegations.
As latest updates, 10 officials have been charged by the Election commission on account of Derelictions. As the allegations against these officials have already been submitted and viewed by EC officials, so it is obvious that the suspension has already been ineffective against them.
As a part of the ongoing investigation, it is obvious that EC officials have also asked the suspended officials not to leave the district. In case they need to, then it is important for them to obtain a written petition from the authorities.
The IPC and EC have also made it clear that each of the suspended officials will also be entitled to facing criminal charges and proceedings.
As a responsive action, EC has also ordered the committee to conduct re-elections in seven polling booths. The authorities have also stated that the reelections shall be conducted on 19th May.
The complaints against such incidents were officially made by YSRCP and TDP political parties. In their complaint, they clearly mentioned allegations like Vote rigging by a mass number of people.
As a drive, EC faced a similar situation in Guntur district but failed to respond immediately there. As per complaints made, EC has also ordered re-polling to be done in five of major polling stations, and then later on two polling stations were added to the same list.
It is obvious that Chandragiri is the main constituency for CM Chandrababu Naidu and TDP party.
