14 wounds were sustained by a doctor in Kolkata before she passed away: report on the post-mortem
According to the post-mortem report, the body of the lady doctor who was raped and killed on August 9 at Kolkata's State-run RG Kar Medical College & Hospital has 14 injuries. According to sources, the report stated that every injury was discovered after death.
Multiple injuries were found in various bodily parts, including the head, cheeks, lips, nose, right jaw, chin, neck, left arm, left shoulder, left knee, ankle, and inside genitalia, according to sources citing the post-mortem study.
There was a white, thick, viscous substance inside the genitalia, blood clots in various regions of the body, and hemorrhage in the lungs.
According to the sources, the report's conclusions imply that the victim's death was caused by the effects of manual strangulation coupled with smothering, with homicidal intent.
The sources claimed that the report also included medical evidence of the victim's genitalia being forcefully penetrated, which raises the possibility of sexual assault.
Samples including blood have been sent for additional examination.
Experts in medicine state that the report's conclusions support the assertions made by the disgruntled medical students and junior physicians, who claimed that numerous partners were involved in the horrific rape and murder rather than a single person.
Sanjay Roy, a volunteer for the community, is the sole person who has been arrested thus far.
The Central Bureau of Investigation received him after the Kolkata Police placed him under custody (CBI).
The inquiry was taken over by the CBI at the directive of the Calcutta High Court. According to sources, the CBI investigators are working hard to identify more accomplices in the crime by questioning a number of people, most notably Sandip Ghosh, the controversial former principal of RG Kar Medical College & Hospital.
Ghosh had spent the last three days being questioned for a total of 12 to 13 hours by the CBI's Salt Lake office, which is located in the northern suburbs of Kolkata.
