AP Assembly Drama – Balakrishna Missing!

The drama in the Andhra Pradesh state assembly started when deputy speaker Kona Raghupathi suspended three Telugu Desam Party MLAs for creating havoc in the House. The suspended MLAs are - Gorantla Butchaiah Chowdary, K. Atchannaidu and Nimmala Ramanaidu.
Following the suspension, the TDP party workers protested in front of the assembly entrance on Wednesday. On Thursday, party president and opposition leader Chandrababu Naidu hosted a padayatra to the assembly and raised slogans. They wanted to revoke the suspension.
Amidst this drama, one person missing was Nandamuri Balakrishna, popularly known as Balayyababu. The Hindpur MLA, Balayya, who is also a brother-in-law of Naidu, has been missing from the assembly sessions at times.
Balayya absence is surprising as he is also aspiring to become working president of the party. A party leader alleged, “He has to show his leadership qualities by gaining command over the subjects, questioning the government on important issues of public concern and lead the other MLAs of the party in protests and rallies. But Balayya wants power without shedding a drop of sweat.”
