AP Becomes The 1st State In The Country To Deliver Door-To-Door Pension

The AP government claimed to have set a new record by door-delivery of social security pension to over 59 lakh poor people in the state.

As part of the YSR Pension Kanuka program, the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government undertook the massive pension disbursal program for the second consecutive month.

The volunteers of the YSRCP government have disbursed social security pensions in the State at their doorsteps. As the volunteers proved that there was no scope for corruption or prejudice.

The Jagan Mohan Reddy government said door-delivery of pensions has brought to an end the long waiting for the senior citizens, and saved old, sick and disabled beneficiaries from the trouble of visiting pension disbursement offices. It was a pleasant surprise for them as they were receiving the pension.

The government is spending ₹1,384 crores every month to pay pensions under various schemes.

The government is now paying a monthly pension of ₹2,250 to the elderly, widows, weavers, toddy tappers, fishermen, single women, and traditional cobblers and others, ₹3,000 for disabled and ₹5,000 to Rs.10,000 for CKDU/Dialysis patients.

The pension has been increased from Rs 1000 earlier to Rs 10,000 as per the need. Leprosy patients are being given a pension of Rs 3,000.

As per the census records, nearly 80 lakh people are being covered as part of the program to extend a total amount of Rs 1,384 crores as compared to only Rs 490 crore in 2019.
