AP CM Chandrababu Naidu Prioritizes Revival of MSMEs, Focus on Food Processing Sector
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu emphasized the government’s commitment to revitalizing Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), particularly in the food processing sector, which he believes holds immense potential in the state. During a review meeting held at the Secretariat on September 12, Mr. Naidu stressed the importance of supporting MSMEs that have faced significant challenges in recent years.
Highlighting the slow progress of MSME parks over the past five years, he assured that the current coalition government would provide the necessary assistance to help these enterprises recover. A key focus, he said, would be on releasing the long-pending incentives that many MSMEs are awaiting.
Mr. Naidu also proposed that farmers should have a direct stake in MSME parks, allowing them to benefit from business activities. He urged officials to study a similar model implemented in Pune and suggested that the policy framework for MSMEs be simplified. In the event of administrative delays, he recommended that permissions be granted automatically. Additionally, he called for linking DWCRA (Development of Women and Children in Rural Areas) groups with MSMEs to foster growth.
Turning to other sectors, the Chief Minister directed officials to modernize Auto Nagars to accommodate electric vehicles, announcing a ₹100 crore credit guarantee fund to support MSMEs. He also highlighted the growth potential of the food processing industry and advocated for the promotion of large-scale organic farming.
Ministers T.G. Bharat (Industries & Commerce) and Kondapalli Srinivas (MSMEs) were present at the meeting.
