AP Government To Merge Villages Into Municipalities

Over the ongoing protest by the farmers who have given their lands for the Amaravati capital region, the state government has explained that it's not shifting the capital, but only decentralizing the development. Lately, a delegation of farmers from the Amaravati has met with CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

In the middle of the Amaravati protest, the AP government has taken a crucial decision. The government has issued orders merging five Amaravati villages into Mangaligiri, Tadepalli municipalities.

In two different GOs Navuluru, Yerrabalem, Penumaka, Bethapudi, Undavalli panchayats are merged into Tadepalli and Mangaligiri municipalities.

Penumaka, and Undavalli panchayats in Tadepalli mandal comes under capital region limits. Also, these two villages, Praturu, Vaddeswaram, Ippatam, Mellempudi, Chirravuru, Gundimeda Panchayats are merged into Tadepalli Municipality.

Navuluru, Bethapudi, Yerrabalem villages under capital region are merged into Mangaligiri Municipality along with Atmakur and Chinakakani panchayats.

As there are proposals to establish Amaravati Capital City Municipal Corporation (ACCMC) with 25 grama panchayats in the capital region.

In the Assembly sessions, CM YS Jagan has announced to make Tadepalli and Mangaligiri as Model municipalities with Rs 1100 crores.
