AP Police Launches Coronavirus App To Track Home Quarantined

In order to identify and quarantine people who returned from foreign countries, the Andhra Pradesh police have created an application called, ‘House Quarantine App’.
Already, 5,000 foreign returnees have been installed on the mobile app and the police have collected the details of these 5000 people returned from various countries.
“We will collect the details of the remaining people who returned to India from different countries and upload their names in the app. Their movements will be monitored by geo-tagging their details, and this is one of the main sources through which we can prevent the spread of the disease,” Mr. Sawang said.
The mobile app is also equipped with Geo-Fencing to alert the medical and police authorities if the person moves away from the home quarantine. The app has been launched in all the states.
The app was created by Anantapur DIG Kranthi Rana Tata and DIG (Law and Order, Coordination) S.V. Raja Shekar and through the app, Police would collect the details through district dashboards and track the movements of the foreign returnees.
