Amaravati’s Transformation: CRDA Approves Rs 11,467 Crore Development Projects
In a major push for Amaravati's development, the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) has greenlit projects worth Rs 11,467 crore. The approval came during the 41st CRDA meeting, chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday.
The ambitious projects aim to elevate Amaravati’s infrastructure and include roads, reservoirs, residential complexes, and iconic government buildings. Tenders for these works will be invited immediately, with construction set to commence in January 2024.
A significant allocation of Rs 2,498 crore has been earmarked for constructing 360 kilometers of trunk roads to improve connectivity within the capital region. In addition, Rs 1,585 crore will be invested in water management projects, including the development of reservoirs and gravity canals across Pala Vagu and Kondaveeti Vagu.
Residential complexes, catering to Amaravati’s growing population, will be constructed at a cost of Rs 3,523 crore. These developments align with the government’s vision of transforming Amaravati into a world-class capital city with state-of-the-art infrastructure.
The approved projects highlight the government’s focus on creating a sustainable and well-connected urban hub. By prioritizing critical infrastructure, the CRDA aims to facilitate economic growth and provide modern amenities for residents.
With work beginning early next year, Amaravati is set to undergo a significant transformation, solidifying its position as a cornerstone of Andhra Pradesh’s development strategy.
