Andhra Man Stranded in Saudi Desert After Job Scam; Minister Nara Lokesh Steps In to Help
An Andhra Pradesh resident named Veerendra, from East Godavari district, has made headlines after posting a desperate video from a desert in Saudi Arabia, where he is stranded. Veerendra, who an agent promised a job in Qatar, found himself sent to Saudi Arabia instead, tasked with camel herding in harsh desert conditions with limited access to water. His health has deteriorated, with reports of vomiting blood due to the extreme heat.
Veerendra’s video went viral and caught the attention of HRD Minister Nara Lokesh, who assured Veerendra via X that efforts would be made to bring him back home. Lokesh, who previously assisted another individual trapped in similar conditions in Kuwait, has now escalated the issue to the Ministry of External Affairs and alerted the TDP Gulf team to locate and rescue Veerendra.
