Andhra Pradesh Aims to Create Two Million Jobs in IT and Electronics Sector, Says Nara Lokesh
Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh announced that the IT and electronics sector will play a pivotal role in the state’s development over the next five years, with the potential to generate two million jobs. Speaking at a meeting with representatives from the Indian Cellular and Electronics Association (ICEA) in Delhi on Monday, Lokesh emphasized that the state, under the leadership of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, is not just competing with other Indian states but also with global leaders in the industry.
Lokesh outlined the state government’s vision to transform Andhra Pradesh into a thriving electronics hub by leveraging its industry-friendly environment. To facilitate this, a task force consisting of leading industrialists has been established to tackle challenges and develop innovative solutions.
Highlighting the state’s commitment to fostering a favorable business ecosystem, Lokesh noted that Andhra Pradesh is making strides through the "Speed-of-Doing Business" initiative, which accelerates project implementation.
“Andhra Pradesh is advancing rapidly under the leadership of N. Chandrababu Naidu, now serving his fourth term as Chief Minister. We are prepared to offer all necessary incentives to those who come forward with credible proposals to establish industries,” Lokesh remarked.
He also announced that Visakhapatnam is set to become the IT powerhouse and the capital of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the state. Lokesh called for industrialists’ cooperation to help achieve this ambitious goal.
Additionally, plans are in place to develop Anantapur and Kurnool districts as key centers for the automobile and electronics industries, while Amaravati is envisioned to evolve into a city akin to Washington D.C.
