Andhra Pradesh Sets Sights on 15% Growth with Vision 2047 Initiative
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu unveiled a bold vision for Andhra Pradesh, setting a target of 15% economic growth through comprehensive policies designed to stimulate economic expansion and ensure equitable wealth distribution. Speaking at the first Swarnandhra Pradesh Vision 2047 Task Force meeting held at the State Secretariat on Monday, Naidu highlighted the government’s commitment to prosperity for all, especially for the underprivileged.
Reflecting on the 13.5% growth achieved during the previous TDP regime, Naidu expressed confidence in the new target, pointing to the state’s ample resources and infrastructure as a solid foundation. “Our state is well-equipped with natural and human resources, along with essential infrastructure, highways, and airports,” he stated, signaling Andhra Pradesh's readiness for innovation and investment.
The high-level meeting, co-chaired by Tata Group Chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran, gathered key Cabinet Ministers, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) representatives, and prominent industry leaders. Strategic discussions focused on driving growth across various sectors, with attendees encouraged to contribute ideas that would support Andhra Pradesh's Vision 2047.
Naidu emphasized the transformative potential of technology, saying, “Technology offers us unprecedented opportunities. By leveraging it and empowering our youth, we can create meaningful change.” Introducing a shift from the traditional “Ease of Doing Business,” he outlined a new emphasis on the “Speed of Doing Business” to stimulate entrepreneurial growth beyond IT employment.
Industry stalwarts, including CII Director General Chandrajit Banerjee, GMR Group Chairman GM Rao, L&T Chairman SN Subrahmanyan, and TVS Company Chairman Venu Srinivasan, expressed their support for the state's ambitious development agenda. The meeting concluded with a collaborative call to action, uniting government and private sector efforts to drive Andhra Pradesh’s growth and prosperity.
